The phrase "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" has been a part of our American heritage since Benjamin Franklin adapted it from a similar sentiment by John Locke and included it in the Declaration of Independence. At the Heritage Plantation - a residential community in Laurel Hill, Florida - the phrase has been amended again; this time, the community is focused on creating a neighborhood designed for life, luxury and the pursuit of happiness.
It starts when you arrive at the staffed gatehouse of the Heritage Plantation site, a gatehouse that ensures the safety and privacy of the residents who call the community of 770 home sites - built on 1000 acres of land rich with rolling holes, lakes and trees - home.
These home sites create the neighborhood that is absolutely central to Heritage Plantation. Within each neighborhood, careful planning has ensured that homes do not abut one another. As much as possible, the natural environment has been preserved to maintain the privacy of residents and to ensure that the beauty of the land is not diminished by the presence of custom built homes.
Of course, Heritage Plantation is about more than just the homes that are built. Miles of sidewalks and nature trails give residents a chance to explore the peace and quiet of their community - a chance to be on their own and to think and clear their heads on their own when the moment is right. The community center gives you a chance to get together with your neighbors, have a cup of coffee or pick up the essentials or get together for lunch.
The community center is more than just a spot where Heritage Plantation residents can meet their basic needs; remember luxury is a focus. Therefore, at the community center residents will also find a day spa and even overnight accommodations for your overnight guests. Likewise, a fitness center with all of the latest in cardiovascular and weight training equipment as well as personal trainers who can help to tailor your workout for the other activities that you take part in.
For example, those at Heritage Plantation who have a passion for golf will be able to take advantage of an on site course designed by Bill Bergin. The Heritage Golf Course is challenging for players at any level - beginners, moderate players and even those who have become good at the game will find that the course, despite its hazards is quite playable.
The same terrain that that contributes to the Heritage Plantation also lends itself to the planned Heritage Farms Equestrian Center. For those who want to be able to stable their horses near home and have riding trails only available to residents and their guests, the equestrian center will be a welcome addition.
Those who live at Heritage Plantation - as well as those who are looking for a luxurious home in a unique environment - will tell you that life, luxury and the pursuit of happiness is easier to find than they ever thought possible
